Fuel prices continue to rise in Lebanon, gas cylinder price unchanged

BEIRUT — Fuel prices in Lebanon, including petrol, diesel, and heating oil, have seen a continued increase, according to the latest price list released on Friday by the Energy and Water Ministry. However, the price of domestic gas remains unchanged.

Since the last decrease on Dec. 24, the prices of these fuels have been rising steadily. Between December and January, the price of diesel for vehicles rose by 2.42 percent, 95-octane gasoline by 3.06 percent, 98-octane gasoline by 2.98 percent, and diesel used for generators by 2.61 percent.

Here are the new prices compared to the previous scale:

20 liters of 95-octane gasoline: 1,489,000 Lebanese lira (LL) (+11,000 LL)

20 liters of 98-octane gasoline: LL1,529,000 (+11,000 LL)

20 liters of diesel (for vehicles): LL1,403,000 (+10,000 LL)

Domestic gas cylinder: LL1,091,000 

Kiloliter of diesel (used to power private generators): 721.53 USD, up $5.32 from Tuesday’s scale.
