BEIRUT — During United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres visit to Beirut on Saturday evening, he met with spiritual Druze leader Sheikh Aql Sami Abi al-Mona and former Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblatt, in the presence of U.N. Special Coordinator for Lebanon Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, the state-run National News Agency (NNA) reported on Sunday.
According to the NNA, the meeting included a review of the general situation and support for efforts aimed at stabilizing Lebanon and the region.
On Saturday, Guterres met with several Lebanese officials, including Prime Minister-designate Nawaf Salam, Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri and President Joseph Aoun.
