The cease-fire agreement between Hamas and Israel in the Gaza Strip will take effect on Sunday at 6:30 a.m. GMT (8:30 a.m. local time), Qatar's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Majed al-Ansari, announced Saturday.
“As agreed by the concerned parties and mediators, the cease-fire in the Gaza Strip will begin at 8:30 a.m. local time on Sunday, Jan. 19,” al-Ansari wrote on his X account. He urged residents to “exercise maximum caution and await instructions from official sources.”
“We advise our brothers to remain cautious, exercise the utmost care, and follow official guidance,” he added.
