What’s a kiln? Clay Stories Collective artists talk local clay buzz at ‘Light me up!’ exhibit
Every Friday (4–8 p.m.) since Dec. 27, the extension to the Wine Bar-Bread Republic resto-bar space in Achrafieh is peppered with the twinkly lights of unusual candleholders. Clay Stories Collective’s latest exhibit ‘Light me up!’ features a collection of “vessels to carry light,” hand-made with local clay and candles on top.

Clay Stories Collective brought together eight ceramists—Zeina Aboul-Hosn, Hassan Kamel-Sabbah, Yasmina Khalife, Majdoline Hatoum, Wafaa Bilal, Ali Karout, Dina Maalouf, Colette Arslan—who create glazed pottery with offbeat excursions, using exclusively Lebanese clay.
