A major fire that broke out at a Coral gas station in Sin al-Fil, Mount Lebanon, is under control, a Civil Defense spokesperson told L'Orient Today.

According to videos circulating on social media, the flames consumed the gas station and explosions were heard. Plumes of black smoke covered the area. Teams from 12 Civil Defense centers were deployed on site.

"The situation is starting to improve," said the spokesperson, noting that the fire has not caused any casualties so far. The blaze could be due to tank trucks catching fire while unloading their cargo — a hypothesis that investigations will confirm.

A major fire also broke out on Monday at the "Masri" gas station, located on the maritime road of Abdeh, in Akkar (North Lebanon).
