BEIRUT — A large fire broke out at noon on Friday in a sponge factory in Dohat Aramoun (Aley district), likely due to an electrical short circuit, according to the state-run National News Agency (NNA).
The factory is located opposite to the Makhal Mosque in the Abbasi compound.
According to NNA, black smoke rose and covered the surroundings of the area, while no injuries were reported.
Civil Defense teams are currently working to extinguish the fire and the Red Cross vehicles arrived at the scene. Contacted by L'Orient Today, the Civil Defense was not immediately available to comment.
