BEIRUT — Two people were killed and one wounded in a shooting targeting a car with Lebanese license plates on the Homs road in Syria, according to local TV channel Al Jadeed.
Gunmen opened fire on the car as it was passing through the area, Al Jadeed reported. Units from the Syrian Military Operations — security forces loyal to the new administration — immediately responded to the site of the incident, imposing a security cordon around the area to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
The channel did not provide further information and the motive behind the shooting remains unclear.
