Pope Francis once again condemned the "cruelty" of Israeli strikes on Gaza on Sunday, reiterating remarks he made a day earlier despite criticism from Israeli diplomats accusing him of "double standards."
"It is with pain that I think of Gaza, of so much cruelty, of children gunned down, of the bombing of schools and hospitals. How much cruelty," he said at the conclusion of the Sunday Angelus prayer.
