In recent days, caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati spent half his time on the plane. On Dec. 12, he began a tour that took him to Italy, the Vatican, Turkey and Egypt. In addition to his participation in the summit of the Organization for Economic Cooperation (D-8, including Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Turkey), held Thursday in Cairo, the prime minister took advantage of these trips to give new impetus to the efforts led by Lebanon with the international community to press Israel to comply with the cease-fire agreement sealed at the end of November at the end of the last war between Hezbollah and Israel.But this time, Mikati appeared to have raised the bar.
