Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sissi held talks with visiting U.S. officials regarding efforts to secure a ceasefire in Gaza and a potential hostages-for-prisoners agreement in the Palestinian enclave, Reuters reported, citing Sissi's office.

Among the officials who met with President al-Sissi in Cairo were U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East Brett McGurk, according to the president’s office.
