BEIRUT — Residents of Khiam reported that citizen Amin Khashish has been missing since last night when he was near his home at the northern entrance of the town. Some of them quoted his wife, saying that he received a call from individuals claiming to be from the Lebanese Army Intelligence, asking him to meet them outside his home, and since then, he has not returned, our correspondent in the south reported.
A tense cease-fire between Hezbollah and Israel remains in place as both sides continue to exchange accusations and maintain heightened military readiness. The truce, brokered through indirect negotiations involving international mediators, came into effect on Nov.27 after two months of escalated hostilities along the Lebanese-Israeli border.
