The 60-day cease-fire between Israel and Hezbollah, which took effect on Nov. 27 at 4 a.m., was finalized as Israeli troops were still trying to push forward with their ground offensive in parts of southern Lebanon. They briefly crossed the Litani River at its bend, located less than five kilometers from the eastern border and also made incursions along the coast of the Sour district, penetrating at least seven kilometers inland, and to a lesser extent in the central Bint Jbeil district.However, even after the cease-fire agreement was signed and announced by both sides, the Israeli army, granted two months to "gradually withdraw its forces south of the Blue Line," has intensified operations in the territories it still occupies in southern Lebanon, primarily in the central and eastern sectors.
