Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to convene a meeting with defense officials on Friday to address "violations" of the ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah and the Syrian rebels’ offensive in Aleppo, according to Haaretz.

The meeting will take place via phone and will include Defense Minister Israel Katz, Army Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzl Halevi and other defense officials. This gathering comes just hours after the Israeli army announced it had carried out a strike on a vehicle transporting "missile launchers" in southern Lebanon on Friday afternoon.

In Syria, Syrian rebels led by the jihadist group HTS launched an offensive on Wednesday, seizing several localities in the Aleppo region. On Friday, they took control of several neighborhoods in the western part of Syria’s second-largest city, which has been under the control of President Bashar al-Assad’s regime since December 2016.
