Caretaker Minister of Education and Higher Education Abbas Halabi announced that all public and private schools, high schools, vocational and technical institutions, and private higher education institutions across Lebanon will be closed on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024.
The minister stated that the decision was made to ensure the safety of students, educational staff, and parents, “in light of the ongoing Israeli aggression and the severity of the security situation.”
This announcement follows the Israeli army’s declaration of a significant wave of strikes across Lebanese territory, including central Beirut, just hours before a potential cease-fire agreement with Hezbollah.
