The Israeli army said on Tuesday that it had carried out raids “in the Litani River region,” the geographical boundary in Lebanon beyond which Israel says it wants to push back Hezbollah to protect its own population.
“Soldiers attacked several terrorist targets, engaged in close combat with terrorists, located and destroyed dozens of launchers, thousands of rockets and missiles, as well as weapons depots hidden in the mountainside,” said in a statement the Israeli army, engaged since Sept. 30 in a ground invasion in southern Lebanon.
