Civil Defense announces 11 deaths in night-time strikes, shootings

The Gaza Strip's Civil Defense announced on Tuesday morning that 11 people had been killed in night-time Israeli strikes and shootings in several parts of the Palestinian enclave.

In the far north, seven people died and several others were wounded in an air strike on a residential house in Jabalia, Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Bassal told AFP. Another died in an air strike on a house in Beit Lahia, he added.

In central Gaza, two people died after artillery fire hit the Nousseirat camp. In Rafah, in the south of the territory, an air strike also killed one person and injured several people, according to Bassal.

More than 44,000 Palestinians have been killed by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, 2023, the majority of them civilians, according to data from Gaza's Health Ministry.
