The death toll from the Israeli strike on Basta al-Fawqa, in central Beirut, on Friday night was revised upwards on Sunday by the Health Ministry. It now states that 29 people were killed and 67 wounded, nine more than the last report published the previous day. The statement added that the updated death toll was not definitive, and that search and rescue operations were still underway.
The Ministry added that the Israeli attacks in Lebanon on Saturday had killed 84 people and wounded 213, according to a statement. This brings the total number of people killed in Lebanon since Oct. 8, 2023, to 3,754, with a further 15,626 injured.
