Six soldiers from the brigade were killed on Wednesday in southern Lebanon. It is considered to be the deadliest incident for the Israeli army since the start of its ground offensive.

Following the announcement by the Israeli army on Wednesday that six of its soldiers had been killed in southern Lebanon, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu posted a picture on X: a green olive tree against a yellow background, accompanied by a broken heart emoji. The image represents the famous Golani Brigade, older than Israel itself and operating under the army’s 36th Division. It was founded in 1948, months before the creation of the State of Israel.On Nov. 13, six soldiers from the elite brigade’s 51st Battalion were killed after entering a building in southern Lebanon. The Israeli media initially reported an explosion in the building to account for the deadly attack, but the Israeli army conducted a pre-military investigation that found instead that the soldiers were killed in an exchange of fire with Hezbollah fighters...
