Israeli fighter jets bombed Beirut’s southern suburbs Tuesday morning, less than an hour after the Israeli army called for the evacuation of 11 sites.

The first two strikes hit the Haret Hreik neighborhood, according to information from our photographer.

In a series of posts on the social media platform X, the Israeli army's Arabic spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, urged residents of Haret Hreik, Ghobeiri, Laylaki, and Hadath in Beirut’s southern suburbs to evacuate ahead of strikes. The Israeli army released maps identifying 11 buildings targeted: three in Hadath, including one very close to the Lebanese University, six in Haret Hreik, one in Laylaki, and one in Ghobeiri.

“You are close to Hezbollah infrastructure (...) For your safety, stay at least 500 meters away,” he added, addressing the residents.
