An Israeli drone strike on a dam north of Saida killed three people, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry. The three victims are three young people from Saksakieh, south of the large southern city. The two sisters and their brother were returning from Beirut after a university exam, reported our correspondent in the south Mountasser Abdallah, who contacted their relatives. The victims have been identified as Alaa, Malak and Hussein Choumar.
Local residents contacted by our correspondent said that the car targeted at Awali, the river north of Saida, was an all-terrain vehicle.
The Lebanese Army reports that three Lebanese soldiers were at the roadblock and four peacekeepers were wounded in the shooting. The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) soldiers were in a bus passing through the roadblock.
According to our information, the army deployed to the site and denied access to the perimeter.
