The mystery surrounding the abduction of Captain Imad Amhaz, whom Israel said is “an important Hezbollah naval operative,” is still unsolved. The operation was carried out by Unit 13 of the Israeli navy at dawn on Friday along the coast of Batroun. A group of men entered a seaside studio and kidnapped Amhaz before leaving aboard a speedboat.Israel said on Saturday that it had captured a “senior Hezbollah operative,” while a military source in Lebanon reported that “a naval commando force kidnapped a civilian.” However, the way this commando unit conducted this unprecedented operation without being intercepted remains the main missing piece of the puzzle.
