The appointment on Tuesday of Naim Qassem as head of Hezbollah will “strengthen the resistance” to Israel, said Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian, quoted by AFP.

“I am convinced that the presence of a brilliant personality like yours at the head of the movement ... will lead to a strengthening of the resistance's determination” in the face of Israel, said Massoud Pezeshkian in a statement addressed to the new head of the Shiite party, expressing the hope for "peace, tranquility and security in Gaza, Lebanon and the entire region."
