The Israeli army's Arabic-language spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, reported on the X network that "paratroopers" attached to the Israeli army's 98th division and the "Yahalom engineering unit" used 400 tons of explosives to detonate a "strategic underground military installation that Hezbollah had built over the past 15 years," without specifying the location.

“The paratroopers operating under the command of the 98th Division are fighting in a mountainous and rugged region of south Lebanon, both above and below ground,” he said.

“The tunnel, which is over a kilometer and a half long, contained equipment used by the saboteurs for long periods of time, as well as numerous weapons, including anti-tank missiles, rocket-propelled grenades, RPG rockets, mines and improvised explosive devices,” the military wrote. He also reported that saboteurs had been “eliminated.”

During the day, the Israeli army blew up several buildings in the village of Houla (Marjayoun). Loud explosions were heard in Kfar Kila and Odaisseh (Marjayoun). Thick smoke was seen above these villages, suggesting that the Israeli army was probably blowing up houses in this area. Earlier in the morning, the Israeli army blew up houses in the village of Odaisseh, as well as in the vicinity of Taybeh. Residents of the area reported that the earth shook as a result of these attacks.

Unsurprisingly, the spokesperson did not refer to the Israeli phosphorus artillery fire that hit the disputed Shebaa and Kfar Shouba farms (Hasbaya) during the day, causing a major fire in the area.

Ten days ago, the Israeli army blew up an entire village, that of Mhaibib (Marjayoun).
