BEIRUT — A major fight took place on Friday evening in the town of Naameh in the Chouf district between young men, which included heavy gunfire leading to an undetermined number of injuries, according to the state-run National News Agency (NNA).

NNA reported that storefronts were also damaged during the fight.

A video posted by Al Jadeed shows people fighting and breaking a shop’s windows seconds before gunfire erupted at the scene.

Local news outlet Lebanon Debate reported that the fight, which caused panic among residents, occurred between members of two families.

According to Lebanon Debate, the tensions began on Wednesday and resumed on Friday. The local news outlet added that gunshots were fired into the air did not cause any injury, suggesting the injuries reported by NNA may have resulted from the physical fight.

Lebanon Debate also reported that security forces are now pursuing those involved for questioning, without further details.

The Naameh municipality and the village mokhtar (a local official responsible for records) were not immediately available for comment.
