The Lebanese army paid tribute Monday to three of its soldiers killed the previous day in an Israeli strike near Ain Ibl, southern Lebanon.

Following the bombing of a military vehicle, the Israeli army expressed its "regrets." According to the daily Haaretz, it stated that the Lebanese military vehicle hit was traveling in a combat zone, clarifying that the Lebanese Army "was not a target of the Israeli military."

According to the Lebanese Army, the three soldiers killed were Chief Warrant Officer Tarek Sobho, Sergeant Ahmad Haidar, and Private Jaafar Jaafar. The first, Tarek Sobho, was born in 1985 in Dabbabieh, Akkar (north). Ahmad Haidar, born in 1994, was also from the village of Iaat in Akkar. The third, Jaafar Jaafar, was born in 1990 in Kwakh, in Hermel.

The Lebanese Army is not involved in the fighting against the Israeli army. However, nearly 10 of its soldiers and officers have been killed since Oct. 8, 2023, in Israeli bombings.
