Captured by the Israeli army, a Hezbollah fighter executed by a reservist soldier, according to Israeli media

One of the Hezbollah fighters captured by the Israeli army in southern Lebanon is reported to have been executed during his interrogation by a reservist soldier, according to Israeli media, including Israel Hayom and Channel 14.

On Saturday, the Israeli army announced that it had launched an internal investigation into the  "death" of a prisoner taken during combat in southern Lebanon. According to the Jerusalem Post, his capture occurred during clashes with the Golani Brigade in a tunnel dug by hezbollah.

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir strongly criticized the decision to open an investigation, calling it "shameful" to even consider investigating the death of a Hezbollah fighter. Reports suggest that the prisoner was killed by a member of Unit 504, the Israeli intelligence unit responsible for interrogations.

Furthermore, the Israeli army stated that it has captured 10 Hezbollah fighters since the beginning of its ground operations in southern Lebanon at the start of the month.
