The Lebanese army reported on its X account that "the Israeli enemy fired on an army post in the town of Kafra (Bint Jbeil district), resulting in two deaths and three injuries." Much later, a strike in Baissariyeh, within the Saida district, killed a Lebanese soldier and his two children, according to correspondent Mountasser Abdallah.

In the evening, outgoing Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati condemned the "Israeli aggression in Kafra" in a statement from his press office. He noted that "these perpetual Israeli crimes do not spare our brave soldiers who are fulfilling their national duty, protecting our lands and our people. Meanwhile, the international community remains silent. There must be global awareness to put an end to this aggression," the statement emphasized.

UNIFIL Incident

Commenting on Israel's attacks against civilians, UNIFIL, and the Lebanese army, Parliament Speaker Nabih Berry deemed it "a clear and blatant attempt to assassinate UN Resolution 1701." He stated, "We hold the international community accountable; it must act to put an end to the annihilation war that Israel is waging against Lebanon and everything related to the rules of morality, humanity, and international legitimacy."

UNIFIL announced on Friday that its headquarters in Naqoura "was hit by explosions for the second time in 48 hours." The statement clarified that "two peacekeepers were injured after two explosions occurred near an observation tower." One of the injured was transferred to a hospital in Sour, while the other is being treated in Naqoura.

After initially claiming that the injuries were "accidental," the Israeli army stated that "soldiers operating in Southern Lebanon identified an immediate threat to them and responded by firing toward the threat." An "initial examination" clarified that during the incident, "a shot hit a UNIFIL post located about 50 meters from the source of the threat, resulting in the injury of two UNIFIL personnel."

Later in the day, Hezbollah claimed an attack on a gathering of Israeli soldiers in Ras Naqoura, within the Tyre district. The day before, the Shiite party stated it had attacked advancing Israeli soldiers toward Ras Naqoura, destroying a tank and preventing the military from recovering victims from that attack.

Tragedy in Mays al-Jabal

In the Bint Jbeil district, strikes in Yater killed three people and hit a civil defense center of the Islamic Health Committee, affiliated with Hezbollah. In the same district, three people were killed in airstrikes in Burj Qalaway, according to a rescue services source. Another bombing that hit Jibsheet, in the Nabatiyeh district, resulted in at least one death, according to our correspondent in the South. An Israeli strike on Majdal Zoun is also reported to have caused casualties.

Another tragedy on Friday involved the village of Mays al-Jabal, which announced that several of its residents displaced to Beirut perished in the Israeli strike that hit a building in Basta on Thursday night. Among the victims were Ali Youssef Ammar and his two granddaughters, Joud Ammar (3 years) and Tala Choucair (7 years), as well as Ali Kabalan and his two daughters, Tia (9 years) and Léa (6 years). Ali Ammar had already lost his daughter and family in an Israeli attack in May.

Israeli Airstrikes Continue

The Israeli air force bombarded several villages in the South throughout the day: Blat, Batoulieh, Bazouriyeh, Arnoun, Kfar Remmane, Kfar Tebnit, Mahmoudiyeh, Kfar Hammam, Majdal Selm, Wadi Berghoz, Jbaa, Kherbet Selm, Beit Lif, Mays al-Jabal, and Houla. Strikes also targeted an area between Kfar Hammam and Halta, the outskirts of Zaoutar el-Gharbiyeh in the Nabatiyeh district, as well as areas near Zrariyeh, close to Saida. The Bekaa Valley was not spared either; an air raid hit the vicinity of al-Ain north of Baalbeck, while an attack in Bouday caused at least five deaths. Two buildings in Karak, already hit the day before, were completely destroyed in new raids. Another strike also hit an area between Yohmor and Sohmor in Western Bekaa.

Drone Attacks on Haifa

On its part, Hezbollah claimed a "drone attack" on the "air defense headquarters in Kiryat Eliyezer," a neighborhood near the port of Haifa. This strike occurred at 8:30 AM, simultaneously with a rocket attack targeting Zvulun, north of the city, according to separate statements from the Shiite party.

At the same time, sirens sounded in Acre and Haifa following the intrusion of a "hostile flying object," according to the newspaper Haaretz. The Israeli army stated that 25 rockets were fired from Lebanon, some of which were intercepted, while others fell in "open" areas without causing casualties. At 10:50 AM, Hezbollah also struck with rockets "the village of Kfar Szold," located about ten kilometers southeast of the Blue Line, near the occupied Golan Heights.

Earlier in the morning, Hezbollah had already claimed several strikes against Israeli positions near the Lebanese border. An anti-tank missile strike from Lebanon killed a Thai worker in Yiron, at the border. The Shiite party also stated it launched "a massive barrage of rockets" at a deployment of Israeli soldiers "in the Yiftah barracks and its surroundings," across from the Lebanese village of Blida (Bint Jbeil). Another strike targeted "technical equipment" at the al-Abad site, facing Houla (Marjeyoun), with a "guided missile," according to Hezbollah. The party also fired rockets at a deployment of Israeli soldiers in Ya'ara, a village close to the border, opposite Alma al-shaab (Sour), as well as at another gathering in the Shomera area, in northern Israel, across from Marwahine (Sour), and in the Tell Shaar region, across from the Lebanese village of Rmeich (Bint Jbeil).

Israeli Military Response

"We will not stop until we bring the residents back safe and sound," stated Israeli Chief of Staff General Herzi Halevi, amid a house claimed to be located in a village in Southern Lebanon, in a video released on social media by the Israeli army.

Avichay Adraee, the Arabic-speaking spokesperson for the Israeli army, shared images on X of a room filled with weapons that he claimed belonged to Hezbollah and were seized by Israeli forces in villages in Southern Lebanon. He described these weapons as "sophisticated, some of Iranian manufacture," stressing that his army "will not allow Hezbollah to continue stockpiling these dangerous munitions at our borders." Earlier in the day, he announced that Israeli fighter jets "attacked and eliminated a commander of the anti-tank unit of Hezbollah Radwa. force in the Mays al-Jabal area (Marjeyoun district), known as Gharib al-shujaa." This Hezbollah official was reportedly involved in several anti-tank missile firings toward the Ramot Naftali area in northern Israel.
