Ogero, Lebanon's official fixed-line telephone and internet provider, announced Thursday that two outages had affected central offices in southern Lebanon, in the Marjayoun and Bint Jbeil districts, both heavily bombed by Israeli airstrikes.

In two separate statements, the company said its services were disrupted in areas served by these two infrastructure hubs. Ogero emphasized that repairs would begin "as soon as possible, once the necessary security clearances are granted."

On Wednesday, the national telecom operator denied reports of widespread telecommunications disruptions in southern Lebanon. An Ogero spokesperson confirmed to L'Orient Today that the company had recently carried out repairs in the villages of Maaroub, Shehour, Srifa and Abbasieh (all in the Sour district), Kharayeb, Zrarieh (both in the Saida district), Qaaqaaiet al-Jisr (Nabatieh).

"To repair certain outages in certain locations, we require security clearances. The recent repairs were conducted under bombing," said Karim Rifai, an Ogero spokesperson. "We are now waiting for new authorizations to continue repairs in other villages," he added, noting that the village of Rmeish (Bint Jbeil) has been without internet since the latest airstrikes.
