Lebanese Army arrests 2 Syrian nationals on suspicion of spying for Israel

The Lebanese Army announced on its X account that it had arrested two Syrian nationals, identified only by the initials of their first and last names, on suspicion of spying for Israel.

In its message, the Lebanese Army claims that the two people arrested were “photographing various places” that had been hit by the Israeli army, which has been shelling southern Lebanon, the Bekaa, Beirut's southern suburbs and even localities in the Chouf and Jbeil, since late September. The two men were also monitoring “search and rescue operations and the identification of bodies” of the victims of these bombardments.

Finally, the army specified that the two people arrested had been recruited via social networks, concluding that an investigation had been opened under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
