The Arabic spokesperson for the Israeli army, Avichay Adraee, stated on Friday that 250 Hezbollah fighters, including 21 commanders, have been killed "since the start of ground operations in southern Lebanon" on Monday.

"The Israeli army launched a targeted and limited ground operation in southern Lebanon on Monday... Five battalion commanders, 10 company commanders, and six platoon commanders of Hezbollah have been eliminated," the military spokesperson said on X. He added that the army found "weapon depots, rocket launchers ready for firing, and Hezbollah explosives."

"So far, approximately 250 saboteurs have been eliminated by both ground and air, and more than 2,000 military targets have been attacked, including terrorist elements and facilities, military buildings, weapon depots and rocket launchers," Adraee concluded.

Additionally, the Israeli army estimated that "it will take several weeks before residents of northern Israel can return home," according to Haaretz. It added that even after their return, it could not guarantee "there will be no rocket or anti-tank missile attacks."

The military said, "Hezbollah's military capabilities have been damaged, but the group still has the ability to continue attacking Israel's home front."
