An Israeli strike targeted the predominately Shiite village of Maaysara in the Kesrouan region north of Beirut, according to witnesses and local media. This mountainous village is located more than 100 kilometers from the border.

In this area of Kesrouan-Ftouh, the strike hit a zone close to residences. According to information obtained from residents by L'OLJ, the targeted house is said to belong to relatives of a Hezbollah fighter killed in the south. It is reportedly the home of Ali Amro's family, who was killed on Aug. 4, 2024, in an Israeli strike on Houla. Other reports on social media specify that Sheikh Mohammad Amro lived in this house and is responsible for the Mont-Liban and Northern sectors within Hezbollah.

Three people were killed and nine injured in the bombing, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health. This remains a provisional toll, as searches continue in the rubble, our correspondent reported.

In videos obtained by our northern correspondent, Michel Hallak, a massive plume of smoke can be seen rising after the bombing, accompanied by the cries of nearby residents.
