BEIRUT — The United Nations humanitarian coordinator in Lebanon, Imran Riza, announced Saturday that $24 million from the Humanitarian Fund has been allocated to support Lebanon’s most vulnerable people and address urgent needs of those affected by the conflict in South Lebanon.
In a statement, the United Nations specified that these funds would provide urgent assistance in food, shelter and healthcare. Riza urged the international community to urgently support humanitarian efforts in the country, noting that only 25% of this year’s humanitarian appeal has been met so far.
