U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced Saturday that it conducted a raid in western Iraq on Aug. 29, in partnership with Iraqi security forces, “that resulted in the deaths of 14 ISIS (Islamic State group) members”.

On its X account, the U.S. military specified that “four ISIS leaders were killed in this operation: Ahmad Hamid Hussein Abdel Jalil al-Issaoui, responsible for all operations in Iraq; Abou Hammam, in charge of overseeing operations in western Iraq; Abou Ali al-Tunisi, responsible for overseeing technical development; and Chaker Abboud Ahmad al-Issaoui, in charge of overseeing military operations in western Iraq.”

CENTCOM added that “the operation targeted ISIS leadership and disrupted and degraded the group's ability to plan, organize, and carry out attacks against Iraqi civilians, as well as American citizens, allies, and partners throughout the region and beyond.”
