A three-year-old child briefly kidnapped in northern Lebanon

A three-year-old boy who went missing Tuesday morning after leaving his parents' home in Minyeh, northern Lebanon, was found late Tuesday night by the Internal Security Forces, who arrested three suspects in connection with the case, according to information obtained by our correspondent from the family and a local MP. The police, who had issued a missing child alert, have not yet commented on his recovery.

The boy was abducted while walking alone from his parent's home to his grandmother's house in the same Hamdoun neighborhood in Minyeh around 8 a.m.

Following the kidnapping, the child’s relatives blocked the Minyeh highway at the "Chehrazade" intersection, urging residents, associations, media, scouts and security forces to mobilize. MP Ahmad al-Kheir, a member of the National Moderation Bloc and a native of the area, also raised the alarm and called for a swift response to find the child.

After deploying intelligence services in the area and analyzing surveillance footage, the police were able to locate the boy in the Mina area near Tripoli late at night and safely returned him to his parents. His clothes were torn, but he was in good health, according to our correspondent. Kheir was present during the reunion.

During the operation, the police arrested three suspects who confessed to their involvement in the kidnapping, according to the child's relatives and the MP. The motives of the alleged kidnappers remain unclear, and the investigation is ongoing.
