The Victory through Work movement is Lebanon’s latest political movement, specifically in Saida. Founded on Aug. 17, at the instigation of Melhem Hojeiri, Sunni MP for Baalbeck and member of Hezbollah’s parliamentary bloc, this movement seems to want to target the mainly Sunni electoral base of MP Oussama Saad’s Nasserite Popular Organization (NPO). Despite his Nasserite and “pro-resistance” political background, Hojeiri no longer hides his differences with Hezbollah, his former ally. He had distanced himself from Hezbollah, seeking to get closer to the Oct. 17, 2019 uprising.
