BEIRUT —A personal dispute in the Beddawi area of northern Lebanon escalated into a shooting on Saturday night, resulting in one fatality, according to local witnesses and a medical source contacted by L'Orient Today's correspondent in the North. This morning, the alleged shooter turned himself into the authorities, L'Orient Today's correspondent reported.

The altercation between two individuals became violent, leading to one person being shot multiple times. The injured man was immediately transported to Tripoli Governmental Hospital in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival, according to L'Orient Today's correspondent.

Security forces initially began an investigation into the incident and were actively searching for the shooter, who fled the scene. However, today the alleged shooter surrendered to the Information Branch of the Internal Security Forces in connection with the killing.

The suspect has been referred for questioning under judicial supervision as legal procedures are set to follow.

In response to the incident, the Al Daher tribe, from which the victim is from, issued a statement "demanding the arrest of all other participants in the murder of the young Bakr Darwish Daher." The statement highlighted that "while the criminal from the Fatfat family has surrendered himself to the authorities, there are three other young men who were involved in the murder and must be arrested." The tribe expressed "gratitude to the security forces for facilitating the surrender of the killer."

The Al Daher tribe also emphasized that they "hold no grudge against the Fataft family, acknowledging their adherence to Islamic law and the judiciary in surrendering the criminal."
