BEIRUT — Lebanese telecommunications operator Alfa announced on Monday that a disruption affecting its 3G and 4G mobile phone and internet services has been resolved, and services had returned to normal in the affected areas.
Earlier, the operator's press office had informed L'Orient Today of "slowdowns due to a partial network failure." Many users reported a reduction in network connectivity, particularly in Beirut.
Internet and mobile phone network interruptions are common in Lebanon, often due to significant strain on generators used to power telephone exchanges, due to extensive electricity rationing.
