The Olympic Games officially began on Friday evening in Paris. Lebanon is participating with nine athletes, and a tenth entry is still pending due to a selection dispute between the Lebanese Athletics Federation and the Lebanese Olympic Committee. This brings Lebanon's total Olympic participation to 37 (19 Summer and 18 Winter).
Here is the schedule for Lebanese athletes:
Tennis:
Benjamin Hassan and Hady Habib will play their first matches, in singles and doubles, on Saturday, July 27, at Roland Garros. Doubles finals will be on Aug. 3, and singles finals on Aug. 4.
Table Tennis:
Mariana Sahakyan begins her second Olympic appearance on Saturday, July 27, at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. The table tennis events will conclude on Aug. 3.
Swimming:
Youngest participant Lynn al-Hajj (17) will compete in the 100m breaststroke on Sunday, July 28, at Paris Arena La Défense. The event will end on the evening of July 29.
Simon Douaihy (22) will start the 100m freestyle on Tuesday, July 30. The competition will end on July 31. His sister, Gabriella Douaihy, has previously competed in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020.
Fencing:
Philippe Wakim (21) will begin fencing competitions at the Grand Palais on Monday, July 29. The competition will conclude that evening.
Shooting:
Ray Bassil (35) will begin her fourth Olympic appearance on Tuesday, July 30, at 10 a.m., aiming for a long-awaited medal since Moscow 1980. The final is set for Wednesday, July 31.
Judo:
Karamnob Sagaipov (27) will compete in the under-90 kg category on Wednesday, July 31 at the Champ de Mars Arena. The final will be held on the same day.
Taekwondo:
Laeticia Aoun (23) will wrap up Lebanon's participation in the under-57 kg category on Thursday, Aug. 8, at 10 a.m. at the Grand Palais.
Athletics:
Marc Anthony Ibrahim (21) will compete in the 400m and 400m hurdles with no coach or support staff. Athletics events will take place on Aug. 3 and Aug. 8 at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis.
