One SSNP fighter killed and others wounded in Israeli strike on Shihine

A fighter from the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP) was killed and others were injured on Monday in an Israeli raid that struck the village of Shihine (Sour district), reports our correspondent in South Lebanon.

According to a security source, two missiles fired by an Israeli drone hit a house where a group of people affiliated with the SSNP were located. The house was destroyed.

In a statement, the SSNP announced the death of Ibrahim Ikram Moussaoui, born in 2003 in Karha (Baalbeck-Hermel). The victim had joined the ranks of the "Eagles of the Whirlwind," the armed branch of the SSNP, in 2022. He had "participated in several military training sessions as part of the party's return to the jihad scene," the SSNP statement said.

According to our correspondent, this is the second SSNP fighter killed since the start of the war. Previously, a party member was killed in an Israeli strike on Dec. 15, 2023, in Yarine.
