Under fire: Lebanon's medics risk their lives to save victims of Israeli strikes
Paramedics face harrowing challenges as rights organizations gather evidence to examine if Israel is deliberately targeting rescue workers in Lebanon, in violation of international law.

SOUR — Asked about the most challenging mission he has been on since the start of the Israel-Hezbollah conflict on Oct. 8, Hussein Awada, a newly recruited volunteer with the Islamic Health Committee, brings his palms to his eyes and bursts into tears. On June 3, Awada was part of the medical team that responded to an Israeli attack on an ambulance in Naqoura. The strike injured a medic and killed the ambulance driver, Haidar Mahmoud Juheir.
