An altercation in Bourj Hammoud, north of Beirut, escalated into a physical fight and gunfire on Saturday night, resulting in multiple injuries, local media reported.
Red Cross volunteers were dispatched to the scene and transported the wounded to the hospital.
According to Lebanese channel MTV, the incident was preceded by a dispute the previous day, during which some men allegedly shouted "Shia Shia" in reference to their Shiite sect and attacked the headquarters of the Armenian party Tashnag. This earlier dispute reportedly led to the fight on Saturday.
Contacted by L'Orient Today, the Lebanese army described the incident as a personal dispute that is being dealt with.
The head of Bourj Hamoud municipality and Red Cross could not immediately be reached for comment.
