As strong currents beat the Lebanese coast on Monday, according to the Civil Defense, the body of a young swimmer has been found in Tripoli, North Lebanon, as another man was rescued from drowning by a member of the Internal Security Forces off the coast of Kfar Abida, a medical source told L'Orient Today.

Monday morning, the Lebanese Navy recovered the remains of a young man who drowned on Sunday in the basin of the port of Tripoli, according to L'Orient Today's correspondent in North Lebanon, present at the site, and the Lebanese Army. The body of the victim was transported to the government hospital in Tripoli.

The young man disappeared on Sunday morning while swimming.

Later in the afternoon, a man, identified as A.K. from the town of Kfar Qahil (Koura), was rescued off the beach of Kfar Abida by a police officer.

The Lebanese Red Cross quickly provided first aid and transported the young man to Batroun Hospital for treatment. According to sources, his condition remains unstable.

ISF member Elie Maroun who conducted the save today, has previously rescued three young men from Tripoli who had experienced similar incidents at the same location, L'Orient Today's correspondent in the north reported.

In the morning, Civil Defense urged beachgoers to adhere to safety guidelines, warning against high waves, fast winds and active sea currents. They also advised against "hasty actions by some individuals rushing to rescue those in immediate danger, as this may expose them to drowning risks themselves."
