Israel-Hezbollah crossfire near South Lebanon border on Wednesday

Several projectiles were launched today from Lebanon towards the Israeli village of Shtula, a security source told L'Orient Today's correspondent in the south, Muntasser Abdallah.

The outskirts of Lebanese villages Ramaya and Aita al-Shaab were under Israeli artillery shelling, the source told our correspondent.

Hezbollah announced in a statement that on Wednesday at 2:05 p.m., their fighters targeted an Israeli position facing the South Lebanon village of Blida "with the appropriate weapons" and said they "hit the target."

The party also attacked an Israeli position in the town of Zar'itat on Wedneday at 3:30 p.m., using artillery fire and missiles. The group claimed to have inflicted casualties, which Israel's army has not yet confirmed.

The mayor of South Lebanon village Blida told L'Orient Today that the outskirts of the village was shelled on Wednesday.
