BEIRUT — A woman was killed and at least three other people injured in a brawl on Saturday evening between several members of the same family in the Akkar locality of Safinet al-Qaytah, according to our correspondent in the region, Michel Hallak, citing local witnesses.
The car of one of the people involved in the fight was ransacked, and shots were fired, killing one family member instantly, our correspondent reported, adding that the injured were taken to Habtour hospital.
According to the witnesses our correspondent spoke with, the army intervened to restore calm in the village, and an investigation has been launched with a view to arresting the gunmen.
The circumstances that led to the incident remain unclear.
