A man shot his wife at a gas station in Tripoli on Tuesday night, in the presence of their daughter, before fleeing with the child, security sources confirmed to L'Orient Today's correspondent in North Lebanon on Wednesday after a video purportedly showing the incident was shared on social networks.
In the video, a man can be seen violently shaking a woman carrying a child, while a second man is also present. Moments later, the first man withdraws a gun and fires at the woman, wounding her in the legs; the child then falls from the woman's arms.
According to security and health sources, the woman was transferred to a local hospital, while her husband fled the scene with their daughter.
The incident is believed to have been related to a family dispute, according to the sources L'Orient Today's correspondent spoke to, and investigation into the matter has been opened.
