Lebanese Army arrests 3 after Sebline shooting

BEIRUT — The Lebanese Army announced Friday that it arrested three persons, accused of for killing one and wounding others in Sebline, Mount Lebanon, on Aug. 8.

An Army statement said a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate arrested two Lebanese, K.M. and A.H., and a Palestinian R.A. on Friday. The statement mentions the men were detained in near Sebline. 

The Army raided the men's residences, where they found "weapons, ammunition and military equipment."

One person was killed and several others injured in an exchange of gunfire near Sebline on Aug. 8.

After social media posts claimed the victim was a Hezbollah member, a party spokesperson reported that the shooting had been provoked by a "personal" dispute, and had "nothing to do with politics."

According to a security source, two individuals — Ali Kamal al-Din and Bilal Abbas Kanaan — were at the center of the the fight.

The same source added that the fight started after an "exchange of looks," which escalated into an exchange of gunfire.
