BEIRUT — A man suspected of raping a 42-year-old disabled woman has been arrested in southern Lebanon, police announced Sunday.
The Internal Security Forces (ISF) said in a statement that the victim's sister had filed a complaint against I.A., a 45-year-old man of Palestinian heritage, for harassing and assaulting her sibling, whom he had previously lured to his home. Auoted in the police statement, the plaintiff said the suspect had fled. He was later located and arrested.
During his interrogation, the police said, the man confessed to the accusations and was handed over to the Judicial Police's Office for the Fight against Human Trafficking and the Protection of Morals.
ISF spokesmen did not immediately respond to L'Orient Today's requests for further information.
