BEIRUT — A man identified by the initials, H.H., set himself on fire Friday in Jdeidet Marjayoun, South Lebanon, after having first sprayed himself with a flammable material, the state-run National News Agency reported. He was taken to the government hospital in Marjayoun for treatment.
Speaking to our correspondent in the south, the hospital's director, Mou'nes Kalakech, said the victim was severely burned and that his condition might require transfer to a specialized center.
The man's reasons for committing this act of self-immolation remain unclear.
