BEIRUT — Civil Defense Sunday warned that beach-goers should be aware of more intense wave action and sea currents off the Lebanese coast currently, making swimming more dangerous.

In a statement, the Civil Defense said, "taking into consideration that today Lebanese beaches are experiencing high waves and dangerously intense sea currents affected by tides, Civil Defense warns citizens, municipalities and tourists to be cautious while swimming in the sea, whose currents puts them at risk of drowning."
