Man killed in grenade explosion in Palestinian refugee camp

BEIRUT — A man was killed Tuesday evening in a grenade explosion at a house in the Mieh Mieh Palestinian refugee camp east of Saida, South Lebanon, a Palestinian security source told L'Orient Today.

According to the source, the reasons for the explosion remain unknown and the victim's body was removed to a nearby hospital. The state-run National News Agency reported that the explosion was accidental. 

Most of Lebanon's 12 Palestinian refugee camps fall outside the Lebanese state's jurisdiction. Armed incidents are relatively frequent in some of these camps.
